Matt was born & raised in Honolulu, and lives in Hawaii (when not on tour).  He is a 4th generation Asian American, gay,  performing/recording artist, who graduated from Dartmouth College (B.A. cum laude) and the University of Pennsylvania (J.D.).

Matt has shared the stage with Margaret Cho, Ru Paul, Little Richard, The Village People, Joan Jett and many others.  Matt is a Diva in his own right with a direct message that happiness comes when you make your own kind of music and sing your own special song (whatever that may be).   His shows incorporate fabulous costumes, lots of laughs, orchestral piano playing, Matt's wonderful voice, and warm insightful songs and stories about our lives. There's always lots of comedy, variety, and audience participation!

"BOOK MATT YEE! Matt has a great voice combined with a wondeful stage presence which allowed him to claim complete control of his set. He drew the audience in, had them laughing, screaming and huging one another. He was truly a crowd pleaser. I give Matt my highest recommendation and hope you book him for your event." Barbara Allen, Northampton Pride Coordinator

"This is the first time I have actually been able to see one of Matt's shows. He is WONDERFUL!!! He is soooooooo funny! I didn't know he was such a comedien. He really gets the audience involved in the show. We were laughing big belly laughs! He passes out the boas of love and gets couples, singles and lots of others in between into the show. His is the kind of humor that brings people together and makes you feel all warm and connected. During one of his skits, he even got me and my new boyfriend up on the stage along with another couple to dance to one of his songs." Doug Stevens of Doug Stevens & the Outband

"I saw you perform at the San Francisco Pride, and let me tell you, I was quite moved. At first I thought, who is this guy? But after watching you, I was touched. When you performed "I'll Reinvent Myself," I found myself with tears in my eyes, I don't know why. Soon after, I got the CD, and it hasn't left the CD changer. Thanks for being an inspiration. Reinventing Myself, JC"
