THE EXPLORER REVUE CAST

"Divas Live" aka "Friday Nite Live" was a chance for our friends in the Revue Cast to let down their hair and share their talents in a more intimate setting.

Cheryl Sinclair was one of the first people I met on the ship.  We quickly became friends when she learned that I was spending my birthday on Labadee.  It was my first week on The Explorer.  We were at the gym.  I was working out.  She was talking with Michael Hammond.  As usual she was not working out (the only thing Cheryl does at the gym is socialize).  And when she heard it was my birthday, she invited  me to dinner with the rest of the cast.

At dinner I met Gavin Gregory, a wonderful singer and diva as well.  What is it with lead singers in these shows?  Gavin has gone on to star in The Color Purple on Broadway!

Cheryl, Gavin and I were all neighbors.  Our rooms were all on the same hallway.  Amazingly we were all coupled, and were able to share a lot of the same issues with shiplife together that couples face.  On some amazing nights, all 4 revue cast singers (here Julie Bell, Michael, Cheryl and Gavin), would join me.  Our last song together was "You've got a Friend" on Michael's farewell night. 

The thing about ships is that they are always changing.  People are always coming and going.  The whole feel of a ship can change in a week.  My last weeks on the ship, I got to know some very cool people from the new ice cast (here's Arnold and Megan along with dancers Maurizio (above) and Ryan).
